Rabun Republicans

On Saturday I went to a monthly breakfast meeting of the Rabun County Republican Party. It was interesting, and entertaining. Quite a few characters making up the GOP here in the mountains. Talked to the State Senator for our district, Senator Nancy Shaffer about her plans for next session. Illegal Immigration is a big on for her, and she's got a couple others but she wouldn't let me know what they were, said she, "might change her mind." Thought that was a bit odd.
The meeting was at Cupboard Cafe, no suprise there since owner Billy Johnson is Chairman of the party. Food was good.
Couldn't get Shaffer to weigh in on the CVB though. She remained adamant that the original legal compromise should have solved any disputes. She may be right. But whether it DID solve them is another question.
