Police March For Ray Bunn

The march is on Tuesday January 17, 2006 at 11:00am from the CNN center to the Fulton Co. Courthouse in Atlanta.

In July 2002, former member and Atlanta officer, Ray Bunn, and his partner were attempting to arrest a suspect they witnessed breaking into a car at 3:30 a.m. The suspect fled and jumped into a waiting SUV. The get-away driver sped toward Officer Bunn in an attempt to run him down. As he was being struck and injured by the vehicle, he fired twice, killing the driver, who was in possession of cocaine, marijuana and stolen property.

Afterward, Officer Bunn continued to serve the citizens of Atlanta until his National Guard unit was deployed to Iraq. After returning, Ray left the city for a position with a State Department Contractor.
Now, after three years and for apparently political reasons only, the district attorney has succeeded in indicting Ray for murder after finding an "expert" from Colorado who is willing to dispute the findings of the GBI Crime Lab and department investigators.

If you are an Off-Duty Georgia Officer, or even just a civilian who appreciates what law enforcement does to keep you safe please think about joining in. The Fulton County DA needs to realize that there are plenty of people out there who do support their officers, that they are vocal.
