Ex-President Jimmy Carter has announced that he supports President Bush on the UAE Port's deal according to a Drudge Report headline this morning.
Brilliant work Jimmy. It's like routing for the team you want to lose when you know you are bad luck. If there is anything guaranteed to change Bush's mind about this deal, it will be Carter's approval.

Too bad this didn't work. Bush really needs to back out of his stand on this...the republicans don't need their main man pissing people off coming into a midterm election.
That's definetely true. While I'm not convinced that this is necessarily the security disaster that its being portrayed by some, it is a PR blunder of mythic proportions.
The Bush White House needs to give whatever monkey is planning their PR campaigns his early retirement bananas, and move on.
