Miami Herald's Ethical Problems?

Apparently it's Unethical to Promote Democracy

I fail to see why the Miami Herald should have fired its journalists, let alone had its publisher resign, for having journalists involved in the Radio Marti program. The responsibility of a journalist is to be objective. By any objective standard, the Cuban government is a repressive dictatorial regime which supresses the freedom of information, which is at the very heart of what it means to DO Journalism. Now yes, they took money from the government to do it. But how many of them took student loans to go to journalism school? I used my tax refund to get a new computer, look out Big Brother has bought this journalist. Don't trust a word I say.

Don't be stupid. You want to talk about journalistic ethics. It's unethical to hold your big time book release slamming the President until as near as possible to an important election. Yes Bob Woodward, God of Journalists I'm looking at YOU. Or, apparently, holding information about a congressman's sexual overtures towards 16 year old boys... cough.. ABC...cough. That's unethical... Withholding information that the public should know until it will have maximum impact on your political opposition is unethical. Providing information to those who live in Castro's island prison is a public service by comparison.
