The guy above is a member of one of the Janjaweed milita members who are actually conducting the extermination campaigns. To stop the violence you need:
A. To eliminate the Sudanese Governments support for the action with sanctions, to take action to to stamp out the spreading islamist ideology which Sudan, and the militas support, and a credible armed intervention force which will block aggression with force if need be.

B. Wicked Guitar Riffs and a few dozen tokes from the bowl filled with some of that sensimilla your cousin bought off that dreadlocked chick from the "world can't wait" rally.
The funds for this rocking "feel good" campaign will go here. Find one place where they discuss whose causing the violence?
Oh no. There are no people actually responsible. Violence springs fully formed from the minds of old greedy white men like Athena from Zeus' forehead.
What do you want to raise awareness for? In the event you can spur the lazy plutocrats/Child-rapists of the UN into action, you damn hippies will piss yourselves in the event that anyone ACTUALLY does anything about it which would actually work.

So...you think we should actually try to do something? If we actual did something, which the liberals think we should, they would jump ship the day the first US support moved in. The liberals only want you to do something until you actually do...then they're so surprised and caught off gaurd they turn-coat on you quicker than you can say Patrick...
That's absolutely right. Part of it is politics as usual, at least from the elected liberals, but from the "rock the vote" "Social Justice" (what the hell is social justice? is there a kind of justic which isn't social? Perhaps they're simply to lazy to spell out the I-S-T.)
They do it because their goal isn't so much to save starving people being massacred as it is to attack the US. They are anti-american if we act, Ant-American if don't act. They're just looking for a club to beat their own country over the head with.
