This is the area where I impart my wisdom about politics, international relations, and the state of the world in general. No, I am not deluded enough to imagine this matters much to anyone.

Megalomanical DA Paul Howard Hits Deputy

The Fulton County DA takes time off ruining my brothers' life to hit a female deputy.

No word yet on whether Howard plans to challenge Cynthia Mckinney for her Congressional seat in the next election.

Just another example of the insanity in a faction which seeks to punish law enforcement, not assist them.

I can't believe he can even mouth the word "justice" without choking up.

Losing in Iraq...

That's why Al-Qaeda is pulling their goalie in the third period. (HT: Ace of Spades)

Looking for more "fertile ground" for their terrorism, Al-Qaeda is, according to some sources, pulling out of Iraq. Plus Abu Musab Zarqawi is getting benched for his poor performance.

Of course this gets filed under good news for the media, and goes in their round file.

Blair Says Force will not be used to compel Iranians in Nuclear Stand-off

Iran says Britian a Target

C'mon Blair, don't go Dhimmi on us now. For starters, you're going to get hit whether you like it or not. Iranian ideology does not seem to make a distinction between the US and British policy, and where it does, its to assign bizarre blame to British, regardless of their actions.

This is not a conflict where you get to choose a side. What side you are on was chosen for you. And they've deemed you the enemy.

You can try and calm the rhetoric, saying you want diplomacy, and are seeking a peaceful resolution. Rightfully so. Everyone would prefer just such a resolution, if it exists. But you can not compel such a peaceful solution without some threat of a more dire consequence.

Of course you can argue that the Apocalyptical rulers of Iran don't care about whether they suffer dire consquences.

It's a problem the allied nations of the west have never faced before. As my brother Ray said when we talked about the issue together (appropriately on Easter Sunday):

"The Nazis and the Communists, were atheists, they didn't believe in an afterlife, especially one with 72 virgins in it."

Even the Imperial Japanese, which pioneered kamikaze strikes, and were renowned for a willingness to fight to the death were not the same as the "martyrdom seekers" we face today.

We know appeasement doesn't work. We know sanctions fall apart. And we know that the military option is an ugly one, even if common sense means we shouldn't take it off the table.

So how do you defeat an enemy which actively wants to die?

You make life worth living. Of course that's nearly impossible in a country where you can be put to death for the crime of being raped. So we must undermine their regime. Support for dissident Iranian religious groups, worker's unions, ethnic groups. Communications and organizational support, along with funding, and, if the issue is pressed into conflict, weapons and training as well.

On another note, someone in the Pentagon may have taken my advice,

MEK Used as Spec-ops (dubious source, use your own judgement)

Of course the left-wing site has a fit. But let's face it, the peace-nik,left-wing will not support any action except surrender and Dhimmihood.

Test

This is a test. Blogger has not been responding properly to commands, So i'm giving it another shot before I simply throw up my hands and then go to the men's room to cry.

Back for the time being...

I'm back here at blogspot at the moment. I am completely frustrated with my attempts to foray into a full on website for the DK Republic. (thedkrepublic.com) We're still struggling with technical difficulties related to the cheap online webpage editor which my minimal cost package entitles me to use. Apparently if i want to utilize frontpage or even an FTP transfer I have to pay mas dinero. (That's more money, for those who haven't accepted the reconquista yet)

Anyway, that griping completed, here are somethings you should be paying attention to:

No Wonder we have an Immigration Debate

In an attempt to reach someone official during a news story regarding an illegal immigrant, I tried to reach the INS. Look what I got from the yellow pages instead. No wonder we have an illegal immigration crisis.

Wanting to be the story

When did the desire to report the news stop with the MSM, and the desire to BE the news begin?

I am so sick and tired of reporters doing stories about OTHER REPORTERS. The national media is increasingly myopic, focused on their own scatter brained conspiracies, and their own darlings.

If my every newscast was like one of the major networks it would be something like this:

Me: Good Morning, I'm David Shideler in the News Center... Yesterday David Shideler worked until 7pm, and then went home and played the Godfather video game until he went to bed. David... how did it feel to spend your whole day reporting the news, and have no social life...

Also Me: Well David, its a real tragedy... a young man, in the prime of his life, reduced to a working drone.

Me: A real shame David.. We hope that improves... We know go to reowned pseudo-psychologist David with analysis... David?"

Me Too: Well David, in cases like this, what you find is the classic work-a-holic syndrome, where young reporters dive into their work, to compenstate for a lack of a social safety network.

Me: What should young budding reporters do in a situation like that
David?

Me Too: Well, clearly they need to utilize whatever methods of social activity they can find, but doing other enjoyable activites which can be done in a short period of time, for instance, blogging online... which can be done during break times, that will give young reporters some outlets before being
burned out.

Me: Fascinating David, thank you.

STOP TRYING TO BE THE NEWS, Or CREATE THE NEWS, and Just Report It!

Not so Sci-Fi

Science Fiction Is Always About the Present, Never the Future

Even if you don't agree with the conclusions, the piece is very well written, as well as entertaining. (HT: Emperor Misha)

I have insisted, and continue to insist, that this is a political, not a religious conflict. But in the protective cloak of religion, these totalitarians have a much better chance of recruiting members than ever the Nazis or the Communists did.
When the Nazi Party began in the 1920s, it averaged 2000 members. When the Nazi Party came to power in 1933, party membership had risen to 2.5 million. In 1945, when the Nazi Party was disbanded, official membership rolls listed a total of 8.5 million. (http://www.answers.com/topic/national-socialist-german-workers-party)

Because of the conviction of some 8.5 million, (many of whom were certainly not devoted Nazis) an entire continent had to be reduced to rubbish, and than totally rebuilt.

There is no doubt that the ideology of Islamism will have a stronger pull on the muslim masses than nazism held over the germans. And yet we try to tiptoe around the issue like a child trying not to leave a footprint in wet snow.

Soviet Republic of Taxachusetts to have Universial Health Care

And they even remembered to punish those who choose to make their own decisions about what they need to spend their money on. Lenin would be proud.

My favorite quote from the article:

"The novelty of what's happened in this building is that instead of saying, `Let's do neither,' leaders are saying, `Let's do both,'" said John McDonough of Health Care for All. "This will have a ripple effect across the country."

The only benefit of a two party system is that they are usually too busy screwing each other to screw the citizenry. But no longer... They'll just take us from both ends in a menage trois of voting buying and punishing the individual.

Who the hell are you to tell me whether or not I can afford to buy health insurance? If that's something I've decided to go without, its a risk I'm willing to take. And if i'm wrong the only who out of luck is me.

It's called a free market you Pinkos. If the insurance companies want some of us as customers, they'll lower their prices to something which is worth our time. The companies that want the best employees will offer health care to entice them.. Those that don't will be unable to get decent help, and lose market share a result of poor service.

I wasn't leaning towards Mitt in any case, but if he signs this, he can forget about my vote in his presidential bid.

Updates...

Welcome fellow citizens... Your first Consul (and Dictator for Life) has been a little bit to busy to step onto these hallowed floors in awhile..

Actually busy is a lie. I was sooo angry after Blogger ATE my post, not once, not twice but four times, that I gave up and refused to post for the rest of the day. The topic i was blogging about was China too, so you wonder if "Don't Be Evil" Google, hasn't decided to just stop EVERYONE from commenting on Chinese Policy, instead of just those in China. If the Ministry for State Security shows up, I'll try to get a blog in before I end up in a prison cell in Harbin.

Anyway, I was sooo pissed off, I went out and paid just under 20 bucks for TheDkRepublic.com.

It will take awhile for us to make the transfer there no doubt, but when it finally happens I'll let you know.

In International Relations... the DK Republic will be interviewing Governor Sonny Perdue today. We'll let you know how that goes, and possibly even post the audio when it becomes available.
