This is the world we live in.

Parents Upset Over Police Drill in School

Look parents. The point of a drill is that it is as realistic as possible. In this case, police were working with the school system to deal with a potential evacuation for the threat of violence against a school. Kids were searched by police, and evacuated. Apparently kids and parents were not informed that it would be happening. Well tough. "Some of these kids were so scared, they just about wet their pants," said Marge Bradshaw, a parent with four children in Godfrey-Lee Schools. "I think it's pure wrong that the students and parents were not informed of this."
Beslan. 171 children, 200 adults, dead. Whaddaya think Marge? Do you want your kids to be a little scared... a little nervous, a little on edge? Maybe they should be. Maybe drills like this show kids that security is not a joke. That, golly gee, there are people out there who wish them ill. Why Marge, are your kids terrified of the people who are there to protect them? Is it because you taught them to be?
Marge's comments show the symptoms of what's wrong with this country, not only in school security, but on the WoT as well. Large slices of the population are more afraid of Us than they are of Them. Now I agree, we are supposed to be wary of our government and its policing power. It's right and good that we should be. Perhaps the fear Marge and her kids express towards the duly sworn police is a instinctive response, a sub-concious recognition of how much of our security we have sub-contracted to our leadership. But when our government, local, state or national, is actually performing the only real purpose it has, which is guaranteeing our life and liberty, we bitch and moan, snipe and undercut. We then wonder why it acts in a ham-handed and incompetent manner. We burst into outrage when they train to protect our children. So they don't train. Then we'll burst into outrage because they failed.

Going Sane in a Crazy World

Transgendered Can Use Either Bathroom (Drudge)

It's not even the idea that someone can use the woman's bathroom simply because he THINKS he's a woman that bothers me. I've almost wrapped my brain around that. Not quite, but almost. But the court rules they can USE ANY Bathroom they want! So like some kind of amphibian which can change its sex based on environmental cues, these "transgendered" folks get to be whatever gender is most advantageous to them at any given time.

But the part that kills me... KILLS me, is this. From enlightened college student Rena Gantz who says, "It doesn't bother me because it is a reality," she said. "If they believe they are women, they should be treated as one."

It's NOT a reality Rena, its the complete and utter REJECTION of reality. Something isn't reality just because we want, or believe it to be reality. I believe I can fly, but gravity will rapidly correct that delusion.

Letting someone do what they want (dress like a woman when they are, in point of fact, a man) is usually harmless. There's no reason it should be illegal to dress like a woman, (when are you, in point of fact, a man) but that, despite what Rena tells us, does not change the very fabric of reality.

In 1984, George Orwell's protaganist Winston Smith tells us that Freedom is the right to say that two plus two is four. We are rapidly losing that right. Various groups continue to move forward with the agenda of forcing us not to be TOLERANT of them and their delusions, but forcing us to accept their delusions as reality itself.

We've come a long way with tolerance. People who used to be sent to aslyums and lobotomized for this kind of behavior. And that's not right. But now the sane are being held down and being societally lobotomized with lawsuit scapels. So we sit numbly and catatonic while insane run the asylum.

Quote of the Day

From the Italian Stallion Justice Scalia- "It so happens that everything that is stupid is not unconstitutional." (HT: Ace Of Spades)

For the "It Can't Happen Here Crowd"

Britain and France is already in the midst of struggling with the inability to assimilate their muslim immigrants. Could it happen here? Of Course Not.

Now, as the Captain points out, the judge here makes the right decision, but wait for the lawsuits to start getting filed. There are certain accomodations that can and should be made. If a muslim would rather swear on the koran than the bible, that's certainly acceptable, since the point of the tradition is to insure veracity not to make a religious sentiment. I'd rather everyone swear on the constitution, but most people don't hold it in as high a regard as I do, so it wouldn't necessarily serve the purpose.

On a good assimilation note, the mexican family that lives next door to me has Halloween decorations up. That makes me feel good. I hope their kids have a good time and come by for a candy bar or two.

W.M.A

I sat in the office today while my co-workers described in great deal how greedy White Male Americans needed to be removed from power and replaced by minorities, and women, and preferably minority women. I didn't say anything because I've learned better than to say anything. A discussion on race and gender is not one I'm permitted to get involved in, except to be on the recieving end of the lecture at hand. Invariably the discussion involves how we W.M.A's have screwed over various sub-groups of people as if W.M.A's were the only group of people ever to have a commanding role in the world. The various contributions of the group, such as representative government, advancements in arts, sciences and philosophy are rejected outright as frauds.

The discussion, (well, it was not a discussion, the lecture I recieved) was very disheartening, not so much because I think it was fundmentally wrong, as it leads me to conclude much of what is wrong with myself and my fellow young males. We have been told, repeatedly, that our assistance is not wanted, that we are oppressors, that we are racists and misgynists, so much so that we have come to believe it. And since we do not wish to be racists, and misgynists, and oppressors, we have stepped away, remained quiet, and acceded any responsibility. So they will very soon get their wish, I think. When the latest grey-haired old white bastards dies out, there will be plenty of room for minorities and women at the top. Because the young W.M.A like myself will be busy being older children, maintaining a frat house and video games mentality, either unwilling or unable to take part in the terribly patriarchial and repressive role of being a father to our children, or a protective and loving husband to our wives. We have been told that we have no biological right to our offspring, either how they are raised, or indeed, whether they are to exist at all. We have been told to abdicate responsibility, and most of us have gleefully done so. Most of us are quite happy to have women make our decisions for us. First our mothers, than our girlfriends and wives.
I suppose the motto should be careful what you wish for. The whole sodden, miserable civilization may end up being tossed in your laps, as we WMA say good-riddens to the troubles of running it.

Now back to my PS2.

Edit: The always interesting Fjordman had a post along similar lines, and it needs to be linked to.

"Hannibal ad portas!"

These folks are just doing the head-severing, terrorizing and drug dealing that Americans are unwilling to do.

It's not just about immigration. It's about security. It's about closing the gates to the barbarians. That's not meant as a racial statement, but if the word barbarian can't be applied to those who saw off heads and throw them onto nightclub dance floors, or those who throw stones at little girls, than its a word that doesn't mean anything. These cartels, and the islamists have alot in common. But gangsterism is not a culture. And yet civilized world has no will to defend themselves. The multicultural crowd has spent so long punishing us for being successful, and has so ingrained the idea that we are rich because we are thieves and imperialists and not because we have earned our status. Which is nonsense. The barbarians are in dirty furs and rags because they are barbarians. When we have introduced aid into their societies, it has simply given them something else for their bands and tribes to fight over. And again that's not because of any racial deficiency, its because of a willful abandonment of culture. The islamic world used to have the most sophisticated mathmathics, literature, and art in the world. They willfully abandoned it in favor of riding in the back of pick-up trucks, wield ak-47s and slaughtering each other. Mexico used to have a small empire. But they failed to make the jump to true representative government, and became mired in corruption. And that's no one's fault but their own. Across the world we see areas where people have abandoned civilization in favor of tribalism. And they seek to bring it here, and we cannot seem to will ourselves to do anything about it. Not only do we jeer and snipe out our legions in their far-away posts, but we refuse even to lock our own city gates. (hell we refuse to build walls at all!)

I went to the Clemson-GA Tech game on Saturday. (31-7 Go Tigers!) And while I had a good time tail-gating, and watching football and just generally doing the great stuff we Americans love to do, I couldn't help but feel like it was all bread and circuses. A great tune played by the band while the Titanic sails head-on towards the iceberg.

That isn't to say that we won't have our Battles of Chalons, but ultimately we have lost the will to survive. The question is not if, but how long, we must spend in the dark.

Rock and Roll Will Save the World Man....!

Yeah.

That's exactly what they need. Millions of Lighters. I'm as much for ending the genocide in the Sudan as anyone, but people are so goddamn ignorant its frustrating.

The guy above is a member of one of the Janjaweed milita members who are actually conducting the extermination campaigns. To stop the violence you need:

A. To eliminate the Sudanese Governments support for the action with sanctions, to take action to to stamp out the spreading islamist ideology which Sudan, and the militas support, and a credible armed intervention force which will block aggression with force if need be.

or?

B. Wicked Guitar Riffs and a few dozen tokes from the bowl filled with some of that sensimilla your cousin bought off that dreadlocked chick from the "world can't wait" rally.

The funds for this rocking "feel good" campaign will go here. Find one place where they discuss whose causing the violence?

Oh no. There are no people actually responsible. Violence springs fully formed from the minds of old greedy white men like Athena from Zeus' forehead.

What do you want to raise awareness for? In the event you can spur the lazy plutocrats/Child-rapists of the UN into action, you damn hippies will piss yourselves in the event that anyone ACTUALLY does anything about it which would actually work.

Random Thoughts...

Can't come up with an overarching post theme this morning, so i'll try to hit some of the notables.

My Favorite Webcomic Achewood nailed my thoughts about current events with this one today.

The Gates of Vienna think that it'll be civil war in Islamic Republic of Europe in the next few decades. After Reading Mark Steyn's "America Alone" over the weekend, I'm inclined to agree with them.

Meanwhile the Congress has put the cabash on those vicious, terror financing poker players. Idiots. This from the same congress which can't find a reason to keep felons from working in US Ports. I asked Senator Chambliss about that topic a couple weeks ago. (shameless plug here) Essentially, for those who don't feel like listening to the whole thing just to find it, He said the power of the Longshoremen's association was too great and they managed to kill an amendment which would have kept felons from working in secure areas. (guess which party the Longshoremen contribute the most to??) Tony Soprano would be proud.

Michelle Malkin points out there are 19 million pro-Jihadi muslims in Indonesia alone. (Indonesia is considered a "moderate islamic state.") Thank goodness for that massive majority of moderate muslims out there. But don't worry, they can't play poker on the internet now, so we're safe.

Media Bias...

And Proud of it.

Incredible. They trumpet their "progressiveness" (lexicon: Progressive liberal who doesn't want to be called liberal). But yet their proud that they aren't influenced by Wall Street like it means they are some how unbiased. Ah.. yes Wall Street where you have stockholders you're ultimately responsible too, and who if offended by your incompetence get rid of you. How very progressive of them. "Hurray for us, we are unpressured by the demands of actually putting out a product that people want, or need, or is viable in anyway."

Jeez.

It's hard to be Right...

I find it hard to believe that this is the 6th anniversary of the attack against the USS Cole in Yemen. It was on this date 6 years ago where I sat down to write a letter to the editor of my college paper, saying that American needed a more aggressive stand against terrorism which involved taking the fight to them, and if we didn't than we were likely to face something much worse. The paper of course didn't publish the letter, instead publishing a screed from some other group about how American policy brought on the attack. It took September 11th, 2001 to get even a small portion of people over to my side of the argument and I still doubt its a majority anywhere but on my blogrolls.

While arguing the point in a water cooler discussion at work yesterday, I was asked the question, "is there any situation were you don't think we should respond with military force?"

It's typical of the kind of comment I draw in discussions. I don't know if I'm not doing a good job of explaining myself, or if its just the nature of arguments to reduce them to oversimplification. One can be childish and say, "Is there any situation where YOU believe we shouldn't negotiate?" But that's stupid, because its likewise an oversimplification.

In my formative years I was on the freshman football team as an 8th grade student. One of the tasks we were charged with as a team was bringing in the practice bags after practice. Well one particular evening, I was lugging the bag all by myself, with several players were simply lounging around. I stopped and yelled at them to assist me, (which they did not do.) When I made it into the field house, one of the players who was not holding up his end approached me, and accused me of calling him the N-word.(As you can imagine he was african-american, otherwise this story wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.) Approximately 90% of the team was African-American, and everyone freezed at this, as my accuser offered up the standard high school challenge. "wanna fight?"

It became immediately apparent to me that my response would determine whether I was perhaps in no-fight, one fist fight, or the recipient of a full on gang beating.

I replied by saying, "I didn't call you anything, but alright, just let me put on my shoes."

At which point he offered a few more words of profanity, and skulked off. The remainder of the team erupted with amusement at his expense.

I am convinced that if I had apologized and/or declined to fight, I would have been forced into one, an unwillingness to fight would have been immediately translated as both guilty and weakness.

This particular episode convinced me, as a later study of international relations and history would reaffirm, that there are some individuals, organizations or regimes which do not have appreciation for any method of expression but violence and the capacity to do violence. As in the situation above, what I had or had not said was utterly irrelevant. Everyone in the room knew exactly what I had said, including my accuser. Despite what had factually happened, had I equivocated in anyway I would have been judged guilty.

Likewise I believe our nation must be prepared to do violence in defense of our beliefs and way of life. We know what we do or do not believe. We know that we are a peaceful, friendly nation, which would prefer to be left alone for the most part.

If we are unwilling to defend ourselves and our point of view, our neighbors will sit and watch as we are assaulted. Certainly there is no sense defending us if we will not defend ourselves. And our enemies abroad are vast. No because we have insulted them or done them wrong, but because we are bearing the weight of human progress, and they are slacking and falling behind. If we hem and haw, and "feel their pain", they will be on us, and those surrounding us will see weakness and join in.

Creeping Sharia... Or just plain Creepy?

Jailed for Sex in Mosque

Of course there's no reason not to punish people for having sexual relations in a public building they don't have any right to be in to begin with. I know if I came in and someone was having sex in my office, I'd be a little peturbed. But the idea that those involved should be punished more severely BECAUSE it's a mosque is another example of the creeping sharia going on world-wide. Would a judge feel that additional "justice" needs to be added if they were having sex in a church? Don't count on it.
John King'ori, senior magistrate in nearby Naivasha, dismissed their
plea."Having sex in a mosque is a most abominable thing to religion and only a custodial sentence can add justice to this," he said.
Also apparently Kenyan law has a specific injunction AGAINST sex in religious places. That strikes me as odd. Now i'm not saying that religious places are the proper place for copulation, but if a society is going to be secular and democratic, which last I checked Kenya claims to be) than sex in one public place is essentially the same as any other public place.

How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

Editors Note: I remember why I abandoned Blogger. this thing has now eaten the post 3 times... But I am not giving up.

Malkin has round up of Liveblogging of Nuclear Test

While the Surrender Press will continue to stress that North Korea does not have the Missile Technology to hit the United States, this is totally irrelevant because:

1. Defense Treaties with South Korea and Japan: If the North Koreans do use a nuclear weapon against either we will be forced to respond, otherwise we have abandoned our treaty obligations, which will encourage all of our allies to acquire nuclear weapons, since it will be clear that the US nuclear umbrella is meaningless.

2. Iran: Iran has better missile tech than the North Koreans, but they don't have the functioning bomb. Its highly likely that they will be willing to make some kind of trade here. It was reported that Iranian observers watched the North Korean missile test (which turned out to be a flop.) Even if the UN is successful at sanctions against North Korea (and there is little chance of that, with China likely to prevent any serious puntative action) the Iranians know a thing or two about Sanction Busting.

3. Terrorism and Arms Dealing: The North Koreans have extensive criminal network which deals in counterfeiting, drugs and weapons. They are very likely to have the ability to put the weapon up for bid on the black market. And the DPRK is depeserate for cold hard cash, so they may be willing to do it.

I believe, and I think most experts agree with me, that the North Korean regime is a risk-adverse dictatorship. What they want is to continue to oppress their people, and not be overthrown. At the same time, their raison d’être is the reunification of the Korean Penisula. They must walk that tight-rope between what they claim they want but know is impossible, and what they actually want but can not admit to, which is to remain in power for its own sake.

So this is Nuclear Blackmail. North Korea wants an end to sanctions, and aid, which they need to keep their regime a float. But it is ultimately like any hostage taking. At some point in time the hostage taker realizes he's never going to be given a gold plated rolls-royce, a suitcase with 20 million dollars and a plane waiting to take him to Cuba. The question is what does he do when he realizes that? I don't know the answer to that, but we better figure it out quick.

Forget Foley, there are bigger fish to fry.

In case you live in a hole, a Florida Congressman was forced to resign because he engaged in sexual discussions over instant messenging. While its not really clear if the law was broken, clearly Foley lacks the moral authority to lead. He's resigned. Good riddance.

Let's move on.

I am becoming increasingly depressed with situation in regards to the war against Islamic Fascism. With the confuzzled stupidity of the west in refusing to support Israel against Hezobollah, with the Pope retreating in the face of basic scholarly statements, because he quoted a 600+ year old source. There have been bright moments, but they are few and far between. Bush finally picked up the Islamofacism title, but there has been preciously little action. I'm not talking in the field, where our troops continue to crush the jihadis wherever they poke up their heads, but in the arena of public opinion we continue to retreat, retreat and retreat more.

We used to think that the internet was our refuge, where we could take on the mainstream media which essentially backs the enemy by claiming to be "unbias". But it appears even in that field of endeavor we are losing. YouTube, the increasingly popular streaming video site blocks pro-israel, pro-american videos, but not jihadists. Says the NYT. They booted blogger's Michelle Malkin and the JawaReport.

There was an article on Drudge yesterday (I can't find the link now) which indicated at least some French Police officials were willing to admit what is basically an "intifada" (*their word choice not mine) in their welfare state created ghettos.

The Baron and Fjordman at the Gates of Vienna are more optimistic, but only slightly.

So go ahead o' leaders of ours. Have dalliances with pages, spend more time focused on your pet power projects and pork, do everything humanly possible to avoid recognizing that whether we like it or not the conflict is essential upon us. The barbarians will be at the gates, and our leadership will be asking:

MAF54: "Soo.... whatcha wearing?"

Miami Herald's Ethical Problems?

Apparently it's Unethical to Promote Democracy

I fail to see why the Miami Herald should have fired its journalists, let alone had its publisher resign, for having journalists involved in the Radio Marti program. The responsibility of a journalist is to be objective. By any objective standard, the Cuban government is a repressive dictatorial regime which supresses the freedom of information, which is at the very heart of what it means to DO Journalism. Now yes, they took money from the government to do it. But how many of them took student loans to go to journalism school? I used my tax refund to get a new computer, look out Big Brother has bought this journalist. Don't trust a word I say.

Don't be stupid. You want to talk about journalistic ethics. It's unethical to hold your big time book release slamming the President until as near as possible to an important election. Yes Bob Woodward, God of Journalists I'm looking at YOU. Or, apparently, holding information about a congressman's sexual overtures towards 16 year old boys... cough.. ABC...cough. That's unethical... Withholding information that the public should know until it will have maximum impact on your political opposition is unethical. Providing information to those who live in Castro's island prison is a public service by comparison.

Senator Chambliss

I will be interviewing Georgia Senior Senator Saxby Chambliss just after 8 o'clock this morning. Check this post for updates on what he says. I hope to talk about the War on Terror, Senate GOP defections (McCain etc.) Intelligence Leaks and Senate confirmations.

That Interview is Right here... Also Chambliss will apparently be serving on the Senate-House Conference on the Immigration bill. So I may have access to a blog worthy scoop there. We'll see.

Blog Marathon...

In an effort to catch up for a lousy blogging record for the better part of a year, I'll do a quick run through of recent stories (also I can blog at home now, which means blogging while consuming beer. No doubt an excellent thing for my quantity, and a terrible thing for my quality)...

Absolutely Right- the WSJ is absolutely right about the right's total failure while they controlled the Congress. Unfortunately since we are left with the potential of a left congress which will pull out of Iraq, given Al-Qaeda the win they want, (as the portions of the NIE which weren't leaked clearly states.)what choice do we really have?

Put This Guy and this Guy together in the same room and clearly a solution presents itself. By the way the phrase I'm absolutely sick of hearing in this day and age "What did He/She/They/It know, and when did he/she/they/it know it."

First they came for the smokers, and I said nothing, because I am not a smoker. Yes that's a paraphrase of a holocaust quote. yes its blows things dramatically out of proportions. Keep your grubby hands off my damn food. Here's an idea. Stop the effort to turn us into a damn socialist welfare state, then nobody will have to pay for my lardass but me. Don't people ever realize that this is the result of having a government which pays for things in your lives? sure its all well in good to steal taxpayer money to pay for my healthcare, insurance, right to live in a hotel room more than a year after the disaster which forced me from my home which was probably also government housing so who cares? When the government PAYS for something, they get to decide WHAT HAPPENS TO IT.

File this under No SH** Sherlock. (Keep digging Watson!)

BTW we are sure the conversation between Lauer and Woodward went exactly like this:

Lauer: So Bush Lied to lead us into war against Iraq? (editor's note: Lauer is salivating at this point)

Woodward: We'll I wouldn't use those words exactly.. but misled.

Lauer: But he said there were weapons of mass destruction but there weren't?

Woodward: Well Yeah.

Lauer: Except for those warheads filled with sarin gas found in a warehouse a couple months back.

Woodward: Huh?

Lauer: and the Mustard Gas and Sarin gas shells used as IEDs against American Troops?

Woodward: Oh... I remember seeing something about those stories briefly....

Lauer: and the reports from a Top Iraqi Air Force General which clearly stated that Saddam flew his weapons program out of the country into Syria under the cover of a humanitaria... Who WROTE THESE CUE CARDS???? DAMN YOU DK REPUBLIC!

Okay I'm dreaming, but that's how Imagine it would go.

Something the Jihadis will clearly fix if we don't get our act together

Okay. now i'm linking just for the sake of linking. But at least I feel somewhat caught up. H/T Drudge Report for the links of course.

Retreating to the Commanding Heights of the Blog

I've gone back to blogger. The use of frontpage, while giving me a prettier webpage all around gave me a number of problems, the least of which was that it required that I be at my office computer to post, and updates took to long. So I'm back on blogger. It will take me awhile to figure out how to make this work for my needs. I still want to post to TheDKRepublic.com. I wish I was one of those brilliant people who knew how to do HTML type stuff.
Until that point you'll have to make do with what you get.

Cheers.
